Kakela (Kela) D. Hall - President & CEO

Over 15 years of strategic communications, storytelling, and integrated marketing experience including teaching Communications and Marketing for both Bellevue College and the University of Washington. KD Hall has successfully produced over 10 events in the Greater Seattle area and 4 short films including a 10-episode television series talk show that aired to 1.5 million residents in Seattle, King County, Snohomish County, and online to an unknown audience reach.

KD Hall has excelled across all platforms of working with real people and helping organizations tell their story through results producing internal and external communications and messaging. In KD’s role as Public Relations Director for the Initiative 1000 (I-1000) Statewide Campaign with Washington State Labor Council (2019), she served as the primary point of contact between media and the I-1000 campaign. KD Hall coordinated and oversaw the execution of key communications checkpoints such as the statewide ed-board interview calendar and final earned media/GOTV push in the weeks before the election. The I-1000 campaign averaged over $2.5 million in media publicity in under 60 days. Executive Producer and Storyteller for the Washington State Women’s Commission Commissioned KD to tell the story of Untold Stories of Black Women in the Suffrage Movement. KD Hall Communications firm was recognized by South Sound Magazine as the 2019 Women to Watch Awardee. KD created a statewide college ambassador program that is now going into its 5th year to established an annual 12-week program to work with college students to develop and execute the Women on the Rise leadership conference, PR campaign, and documentary, as well as building strategic relationships in the local community. Created/Executive Produced Inaugural Women on the Rise Leadership Experience which resulted in a Proclamation from the Cities of Seattle, Kent, and Renton, and accolades from the Governor of Washington.

Christina Maguire - Social Media & Communications

Christina has an advanced skill-set in strategic writing, leadership, business acumen, production, graphic design, public relations, and creating innovative ideas. Christina is a hands-on, creative doer who can proactively manage multiple project tasks with the ability to motivate, inspire, and lead by example. Christina was an associate producer for ‘The Untold Stories of Black Women in the Suffrage Movement’ documentary for the Washington State Women’s Commission and an associate producer and interviewer for 'A Time for Vigilance, Sickle Cell and Racial Justice in a Pandemic ' documentary for KD Hall Foundation. Christina has also composed numerous effective and successful press releases gaining media coverage and was featured on KING 5 News, Komo Radio, and iHeart Radio, promoting and increasing event participation and sponsorship for Girls on the Rise. Christina has a strong work ethic to exceed the standard and will be graduating in the spring of 2021. Christina is excited to tackle new creative and strategic challenges every day and aspires to develop a career within a competitive creative agency to one day become an Executive Creative Director and create her own strategic business.

David Hall - Board Chair

David is a purpose director and a vision manager with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) concentrating in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration. He has applied his leadership skills within multiple organizations, as a business and healthcare program director and as a human resources practitioner. A program- and project-focused professional, he has a proven track record in building, aligning, and maintaining program portfolios with an unyielding focus on clients’ experiences and outcomes. As a certified DDI facilitator, David is trained to enhance any organization’s internal communication by focusing on key foundational leadership skills and behaviors critical to successful workplace conversations. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force and a two-time recipient of the Air Force Achievement Medal for exceptional leadership.

Fun fact: David has a comic book collection that dates back to Marvel Comics’ “Silver Surfer” from 1964.

Andrea Thomas - Board Member

Andrea Thomas is a Regional Manager for MultiCare Medical Associates.  She is an accomplished healthcare administrator with 20+ years of success within the healthcare field and has demonstrated expertise in the executive oversight of clinical practices across several specialties.  She is an analytical strategist with an in-depth understanding of best healthcare practices, clinical protocols, and standards of care; highly skilled at delivering innovative performance improvement plans.  Andrea is a service-oriented professional with a commitment to furthering standards of excellence through a focus on patient safety, service quality, and staff education.  She is a natural leader with a talent for team building and mentoring, adept at building strong partnerships with clinicians, administrators, and executive leadership in order to establish collaborative, inclusive environments.  Andrea holds a BA in Healthcare Administration from the University of Arizona Global Campus and is also a Program Advisory Board member for City University.  During her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, listening to music, and watching a good movie.

Chris Bloomquist - Board Member

Chris Bloomquist has been actively involved with the KD Hall Foundation for over four years and is humbled and proud to continue his role on the Board.  He earned his Computer Engineering degree from Iowa State University in 2001, working as a software engineer for a number of Fortune 500 companies.  In 2006, he switched careers into Technical Recruiting, working for Robert Half, and a number of startups since.  As a Co-Founder of The Talent Mine, he now has the opportunity to mix his passion for career advancement for women in the workforce, as well as technical recruitment and investing in the employee experience.  He is passionate about equity and empowering underrepresented working professionals, and the opportunity to mentor, coach, and evangelize the next generation of women entrepreneurs.  He is the proud father of two young daughters and happily married to his wife Olivia for 17 years.  He looks forward to seeing the KD Hall Foundation grow both in impact and results!
