Digital Equity Grant – Bridging the Digital Divide

This project is funded in part by Seattle Information Technology

Through our Digital Equity Grant, we provide free devices, internet access guidance, and digital literacy workshops to individuals and families, with a focus on BIPOC, women, and underserved communities. Our workshops not only teach technical skills but also build confidence, opening doors to education, job opportunities, and civic engagement.

Impact Highlights:

  • 15 digital literacy workshops hosted in 2024–2025.

  • 29 devices distributed to community members.

  • Near‑peer mentoring (College Ambassadors) providing 1:1 and small‑group support during and after workshops.

This project is funded by WA State Department of Commerce

This initiative expanded access to sports-based programs that go beyond physical activity — fostering resilience, leadership, and social-emotional growth in young people. Through a blend of storytelling, community engagement, and mentorship, we connected youth athletes, coaches, and families to resources that inspire and equip them for success both on and off the field.

Impact Highlights:

  • Integrating Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) into sports programming to build confidence, discipline, and teamwork skills.

  • Spotlighting local youth and coaches in community storytelling projects, amplifying their achievements and experiences.

  • Strengthening community partnerships to expand participation opportunities for underserved youth.

  • Delivering programs that align with our mission to develop leadership skills, foster healthy relationships, and promote lifelong well-being.

COVID-19 Community Education & Outreach

This project is funded in part by Health Commons Project & DOH

From August 2022 to April 2024, KD Hall Foundation worked with the Washington State Department of Health and Health Commons Project to close the communication and education gap around COVID-19 prevention, mitigation, and support — with a focus on women and girls from underserved African diaspora communities.

The program combined culturally tailored health education, leadership development, and mentorship to address both immediate public health needs and long-term community resilience. Our efforts included:

  • Development of a mobile application as an educational resource and communication hub.

  • Delivery of 10 virtual workshops and 3 in-person workshops, along with a culminating Educational Conference.

  • A mentorship and sponsorship program matching 20 community members with professionals for personal and career growth.

  • Public relations campaigns, social media outreach, and virtual town hall meetings to share accurate health information and combat
